Design and Fabrication of Magnetic Semiconductor Quantum Dots for the Study of Spin Physics

Zn1-xMnxTe quantum dots (QDs) on ZnSe and ZnTe QDs on Zn1-yMnySe with different Mn concentrations, x and y, and various QD sizes were designed and fabricated to investigate spin physics. The formation dynamics of bound magnetic polaron (BMP) was observed by the time resolved photoluminescence (PL). The BMP formation time and energy strongly depend on the Mn concentrations, x and y, and QD size.
