Quantum Squeezing Generation from off-resonant Interactions of Coherent State Light Inputs and Λ-type Atomic System

Due to the nonlinearity in Λ-type configuration atomic media, the strong squeezing of output fields can be generated from two coherent light inputs. Under two-photon off-resonant condition, we find that the output quantum variances of two fields can be greatly reduced below vacuum fluctuation. Besides, the input field strengths and optical depth of media are important parameters which can be controlled for generating strong degree of squeezing at outputs. This work provides possible applications for continue-variable quantum information science.
