Production of high-optical density atom cloud

We will experimentally study the single-photon light storage with the high-optical density (OD) atom cloud. We use the 2D magneto-optical trap (MOT) to achieve this goal. In order to enhance the OD, we reduce the power of repumping beam and increase the gradient of magnetic field to compress the atom cloud before the electromagnetic induced transparency experiment.
