Flux growth of intermetallic compounds

The large single crystal samples are essential to the frontier research in condensed matter physics. The random orientation of the microscopic grains in polycrystals can average out the anisotropic physical properties. Single crystals exhibit fewer defects and strain, and, therefore, the physical characteristics in single crystals are more obvious than that in polycrystals. The metallic flux growth is a relatively simple and inexpensive crystal growth technique. This method is especially suitable for science research and exploration of novel materials. I will present the recent progress in crystal growth and NMR studies.
